John Antowan is a second-year medical student at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. He is part of the Symposium and Mentorship working groups within Think Tank. He joined Think Tank because he was excited to collaborate with other students to create community-specific interventions that could bolster the impact of their institution on health outcomes and help support future students in learning about the opportunities available to them in El Paso. He is eager to work alongside his peers to design sustainable initiatives that promote equity and strengthen community partnerships.
His extracurricular involvement reflects his commitment to service and leadership: he serves as Clinical Services Committee Chair at the Migrant and Refugee Transfer Clinic, President of the Admissions Ambassadors, a researcher in the Scleroderma.ai project, and Curriculum Representative for the Student Curriculum and Evaluation Committee. Beyond campus, he is Co-President of the Franklin Hills Neighborhood Association and serves as a mentor for the Double T Mentorship Program. Through these roles, he continues to deepen his investment in education, advocacy, and community engagement as part of his medical journey.
