Our mentorship program aims to provide underserved high school students in West Texas exposure to different careers in healthcare while helping better prepare them for higher education. Mentors meet with students consistently and follow a curriculum. This includes learning the many career paths in medicine, from physicians to sonography technicians to healthcare innovation. The program also offers SAT/ACT prep, mental health and stress management tips, understanding health disparities, and summer opportunities for high school students. This year, the program has 34 mentors and 44 students.Â
