This symposium aims to create a collaborative platform for the exchange of research findings, public policy discussions, and community engagement projects related to health disparities in West Texas. The event is designed to offer attendees valuable insight into the region’s unique health equity challenges, along with strategies and ongoing efforts to address them. Specifically, the symposium seeks to identify current health disparities with a focus on cancer across disciplines such as medicine, public health, and law; present primary and secondary data that highlight these disparities; and propose evidence-based interventions, strategies, or policy recommendations to reduce inequities and improve outcomes in our communities.
