POLICY WORKING GROUP LEAD - Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Lubbock
José Conde is a second-year medical student in the Family Medicine Accelerated Track (FMAT) program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock. He serves as the Policy Working Group Lead within Think Tank and is also a member of the Health Policy and Mentorship working groups. José joined Think Tank because he sees it as “a wonderful opportunity to not only advocate for West Texan health through policy, but to put that advocacy into action through our community-based programs.”
His dedication to advancing health equity has been recognized nationally with the Health Professional in Training of the Year Award from the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved. Outside of Think Tank, José serves as President of the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG), a Dean’s Ambassador, and Co-Founder of Frontera de Salud at TTUHSC, a student-led initiative focused on improving care for underserved communities. These experiences reflect his passion for primary care, advocacy, and building sustainable community partnerships that advance health access in West Texas and beyond.
