SYDNEY PARTIN
CO-COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR - Angelo State University
Sydney Partin is a junior at Angelo State University majoring in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Agricultural Economics. She serves as the Co-Communications Chair within Think Tank and is also a member of the Health Policy, Community Outreach, and Mentorship working groups. Sydney joined Think Tank because she saw it as an opportunity to create and inspire real improvements in healthcare and health education across West Texas. As someone passionate about serving rural and underserved communities and pursuing a career in medicine, she values Think Tank for the chance to collaborate with peers, bridge gaps in healthcare initiatives, and advocate for sustainable change.
Her academic achievements include being named to the Dean’s List every semester since beginning her undergraduate studies, induction into both Alpha Chi Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and recognition with the Angelo State University Honors Program Service Award for her contributions through Think Tank. She was also awarded an Honors Program Certificate of Appreciation for her service on the Concho Valley Adult Literacy Council.
Beyond Think Tank, Sydney is deeply involved on campus and in the community. She is an active member of the ASU Honors Program/Honors Student Association, where she tutors foster children through the Weekly Hands-On Independent Tutoring (WHIT) Program and has served on multiple community boards. Within TriBeta Biology Honor Society, she now serves as a student representative officer. She has also completed the Rising Leaders Program and the Lead Like a Ram Program, further strengthening her leadership skills. Sydney’s service extends to volunteering with Alpha Omega Hospice, working as a research assistant in ASU’s Biology Department, and participating in programs such as the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Premedical Enrichment Program (PEP) and the upcoming Health Policy Immersion Program in Washington, D.C. These experiences underscore her dedication to advocacy, mentorship, and leadership as she works toward a future career in medicine.
