CO-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Lubbock
Tressa Reading is a second-year medical student at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She graduated from Angelo State University with a major in Mathematics and minors in Biology and Chemistry. Tressa is an active member of all six working groups in Think Tank—Health Policy, Community Outreach, Mental Health, Symposium, Mentorship, and Vaccine Administration Clinic. She joined Think Tank to learn more about the health challenges in her community and to collaborate with peers to address them, finding it to be an opportunity to transform ideas into projects that make a meaningful impact. Her involvement in Think Tank has and will continue to help her become a more well-rounded future physician by providing insight into the diverse aspects of healthcare in West Texas.
Beyond Think Tank, Tressa holds numerous leadership and service positions: she is Vice President of the Ark of Hope Foundation, and Co-Director of the Clinical Practices with Underserved Populations Elective. While at Angelo State University during her undergraduate years, Tressa earned the Angelo State University Distinguished Student Award of the College of Science and Engineering. Her extracurriculars and involvement at Angelo State included being the secretary of the Honors Program from 2021 to 2024 and the president of the Mathematical Association of America from 2022 to 2024. These experiences reflect her commitment to leadership, advocacy, and community engagement as she continues her medical training.
